9 a.m to 1 p.m.
Course fee: $150
Suitable for students aged 7-12. Learn the essentials of smithing under close supervision in small groups or with multiple instructors.
Get an introduction to the history, safety, tools and techniques of this ancient art. Under close supervision (in small groups or with multiple instructors) students will learn how to use a hammer and anvil and other smithing tools as they cold forge a metal piece.
Junior smiths will learn all the same creative techniques and procedures as youth and adult students, but will not use forges, which means working with softer metals such as copper.
They will leave the shop confident in their abilities, and holding their first metal creation.
If your kids have never tried blacksmithing, but were always curious, this is for them (and maybe the parents, too)!
Full course details and important information about clothing, safety, hydration etc. will be sent to parents/guardians two weeks before the course.
