Forge Your Own Grilling Tools

Learn fundamental forging techniques and make a full set of grilling tools. The class focuses on proper use of the anvil, hammer control, tool care and many forging techniques to build students’ blacksmithing vocabulary. Techniques taught in this class include drawing down, slitting, bending, scrolling, punching, material isolation and more. Student smiths complete a barbecue fork, spatula and grilling tongs, and a matching rack on which to hang the tools.
- Friday: 5-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to noon - Instructor: Dylan Cook
- Skill level: Suitable for students with zero or beginner blacksmithing experience.
Dylan encourages students to work together and share what they know. His classes focus on tool safety, tool care, familiarity with the material and creativity through basic forging techniques and concepts while promoting and encouraging stewardship of the blacksmith’s trade.
Full class details and important information about clothing, safety, hydration etc. will be sent to students two weeks before the class.
