Copper Smithing
5 September 2020 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm MST
$225
Copper’s malleability and attractive color make it ideal for forging, especially in the summer months when a using a 2,000-degree forge (which steel requires) can make shop work a test of endurance. Copper lends itself to forging items as diverse as cookware, belt buckles and knife sheaths, as well as amulets, bracelets and necklaces. A quick heat treatment with a small flame source creates a rainbow of temper colors and leaves a vintage patina. Specific class project details to follow.
