Forging Blacksmithing Tools

Beyond the basic hammer and tongs, blacksmiths need to make custom tools for specific jobs they are working on. There is an almost infinite number of punches, chisels, gouges, drifts, hot cuts, hardy tools, fullers, devils, monkey tools, and so on. Learn how to forge, shape, heat treat and finish your own tools from tough, hardened tool steel. They will last you a lifetime and you’ll learn how to make custom tools on the fly for whatever job is at hand.
Experienced blacksmith Steven Fisher will lead students through the specialist techniques needed to produce tough, functional tools.

September 18, Friday: 5-9 p.m.
September 19-20, Saturday-Sunday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
