DMC officially opens for business on Feb. 2, 2019, and you are all invited that day to the Grand Opening Launch Party for a day of music and forging demonstrations. There’ll be events for all the family, from face-painting to axe-throwing, plus a raffle and a mind-blowing grinder performance by Kitty Catatonic.
Fear not, parents, we are planning a kid-friendly daytime schedule that will wrap up well before the burlesque sparks, and the axes, start flying!
The course schedule is set and enrollment is underway. Bladesmithing 100 is already full, but don’t worry, we’ll repeat it as often as we can throughout the year.
Our mission is to bring in renowned artists and craftspeople to teach classes to the Tucson community and beyond. Check out our website’s community page for a selection of the skilled experts who are presenting courses at DMC.
We are a mission-driven, community-serving vocational school, and we want to help you learn and enjoy the metal arts, from bladesmithing and blacksmithing to welding and metallurgy.
Our motto is Where Ancient Art Meets Modern Science, so if you want to pound some hot metal into something artistic, make your own steel the traditional Japanese way, or learn about the physics and chemistry of steel microstructures — email us and we’ll make it happen.
Finally — Look good, win friends and influence people by sporting some very tasty DMC merch. Shop at the DMC online store, and check back often, for gift cards, t-shirts and other DMC-related goodies.
We’d love to show you around the school, so let us know if you’d like a tour. Send us an email or a message to our Facebook page, or call us at 520.272.4328, and we’ll get right on it.
Keep on hammering!
Rich, Liz and Pete
